Just north of El Cerrito in the hills is Richmond View. Many homes here have terrific bay
views, it's close to El Cerrito's Del Norte BART station, and also to Wildcat Canyon hiking
and biking trails. Prices are generally lower here than in El Cerrito, but higher than homes in North and East.
Just below Richmond view is a well-kept neighborhood known as North and East. This
neighborhood is characterized by neat rows of charming bungalows, similar to Albany,
Berkeley and El Cerrito streets. The prices are much more reasonable however, making it a
perfect place for a first or "starter" home. North and East is near the Richmond community
and Art Center, is a good commute location and has some great ethnic restaurants.
The Richmond Annex is just west of central El Cerrito. Its convenient location, near El
Cerrito, Albany and Berkeley and BART and freeway access, combined with its charming
tree-lined streets and reasonable home prices has made it a popular neighborhood for first
time home buyers.
Point Richmond is the oldest neighborhood in Richmond, with many beautiful Victorian
homes and a charming main street lined with cafes, sandwich shops and restaurants. Some
homes have awe inspiring bay views. Nearby Marina Bay and Brickyard Landing are newer
condominium and townhouse developments with views of the Bay. Point Richmond is close
to the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge and has its own marina and yacht club.
